Class Reunion

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)

I was sharing with my Gideon prayer group that it was the week of my fortieth class reunion. Would this be a time to give my classmates a copy of God’s word? I called the MC requesting a few minutes to share with them.

Permission was granted, but I began to doubt and question as the time neared. Satan was saying I would look silly and only bring shame to Christ. Being a farmer, I told the Lord, “I’ll plant as I do a cornfield, trusting and believing.”

It was reunion time; more than 100 people had showed, and I lost my appetite as my nerves began to tighten. I started speaking by stating how God had blessed the class through the years. I told them of a few of my family’s accomplishments but that the greatest was finding peace with God through Jesus Christ in 1968. I am not sure what all I said, but I remember stating how we could all be in the great reunion in Heaven. I told them I had a free copy of God’s word for each of them and wished them God’s peace as they claimed God’s promises in His word.

I experienced a joy unspeakable and could sense angels dancing around as Satan was defeated. The attorney’s wife I was seated by took a testament and began the distribution of Bibles. It was a blessed evening as I distributed 39 testaments and asked the question, “Do you know Jesus?” to each person “Yes I do,” many gave testimony. Others just gave a blank stare.

Thanks to all those that encouraged and prayed for me, and may you experience the same as you share God’s love!

Lord I believe Isaiah 55:11 will be accomplished!! I trust you will bring forth fruit and a harvest from that effort. I praise you for being my Lord and Savior.
