Valentine Love

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12 (NKJV)
On Valentine's Day last year my husband did the unthinkable! He got a cold. Now as little girls growing up, we tend to have high expectations of what Valentine's Day should be, and we certainly cannot wait until we grow up to get our very own "Valentine" for a man. But Valentine's Day was very different last year. I had to give unconditional love to my husband.

Let me give you my definition of unconditional love: It's the act of loving someone... no matter what condition they are in! You see, I could have sulked about the fact my husband wasn't in the mood to be romantic, but instead I chose to love him. I gave him my gift early in the morning and then took him to lunch later that day. I was blessed in the giving of myself instead of taking for myself.

Jesus commands us to love! Command is a strong word and I think Jesus meant it!
Father, we thank You that you GAVE us the most precious gift You could give. You loved us even in the condition we were in and we love you in return. Help us to love one another just as you love us!
