A Three Year Warning

Psalm 27:2 “When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” KJV

Occasionally during my devotional time I will ask the Lord what I should read. For about three years, on these occasions, Psalm 27 would pop into my mind. It became such a regular occurrence that I began to chuckle and ask, “Lord, is this You, or is it just me?”

During those three years, I read Psalm 27 many times, but the day that verse 2 came alive for me was the day I received the diagnosis of cancer in my right breast. Verse 2 sprang to my mind.

I realized that God had been preparing me for this moment for three years. The enemy had come against me “to eat up my flesh,” but what jumped out at me was, “they stumbled and fell.” I knew that (for me) cancer had already stumbled and fallen. It was a done deal! A peace rushed over me that fear could not penetrate. I knew I would be healed.

Father, I thank You for my healing and for giving doctors wisdom. Thank You for Your peace and for helping me to hear and obey Your prompting. Now more than ever before, I am committed to fight to the end, and not just the fights I know can win. Praise You Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
