Psalm 50:10 All the animals in the forest are mine and the cattle on thousands of hills.

With young children still at home, my mother-in-law found herself widowed and penniless. She took in laundry to feed her children. Her large garden produced vegetables to preserve for the winter months. By the world's standards, she was desperately poor. Anyone who offered sympathy, however, was met with her standard response. "My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. I am by no means poor." Psalm 50 reminds us how great -- great beyond our human comprehension -- our Heavenly Father is. His resources are limitless. This is our Father we are talking about. What needless anxiety we experience when we forget this.

Loving Father, creator of the universe and owner of all things great and small, help us to cast all our cares upon you, trusting you for all things. Amen.
