Luke 10:39 - (Martha) had a sister named Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord and listened to His teachings.

Jan to Stacy: "Angie is always asking me to baby-sit for her. I got so tired of it, I just deleted her from my Facebook." Stacy: "She wants me to 'friend' her, but if she starts asking favors, I will probably end up deleting her too."

In today's world of social networking, deleting someone from Facebook has become the ultimate rejection. It is so much easier than rejecting someone face-to-face, and often an easy way out of giving of ourselves.

God makes requests of us that are not easy to accept. "Love one another" (John 15:12), "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matt. 5:44), "Give to the poor" (Mark 10:21). What might seem to be the easiest, but may be the hardest request is that we, like Mary, sit at Jesus' feet and just listen. How do we respond? A very sobering question that we must ask ourselves is this: When, and how often, have we deleted God?

Prayer: Lord, help us to put you first in our lives. Help us to sit at your feet and learn, then go and serve. Amen.
