How Does Your Garden Grow?

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
Galatians 6:7 NKJV

In the spring, after the threat of frost, I plant seeds in pretty pots to add color to my front porch. I most enjoy the bright colors of marigolds, petunias, and pansies. As I plant the various seeds in each pot, I insert a small stake with the name of the flower I have planted. Weeks later, the seeds begin to sprout and eventually I have pots full of bright, colorful flowers. Where I planted marigold seeds, I will have marigolds blooming. Where I planted petunias, I will have petunias blooming. I am never surprised at what blooms in each pot. I always reap the flower for the seeds I have planted in each pot. No surprises. No exceptions. I always reap that which I have sown.

Spiritual sowing and reaping follow the same process. If we sow anger, bitterness, and jealousy, we will reap a miserable life that will bleed over into the lives of everyone around us. If we sow compassion, kindness, and love, we will reap a life of joy, contentment, and blessing, which also will affect those around us. We do indeed reap what we sow. No surprises. No exceptions.

Father, please help me plant my spiritual garden so that I will reap a harvest that is pleasing to You.
