"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope." Ps 130:5
"Be still in the Lord, and wait patiently for him." Ps. 17:7
"Wait for the Lord and keep his way." Ps. 17:34
"I waited patiently for the Lorrd; he turned to me, and heard my cry." Ps 40:1

Don't apologize -
In giving me an hour
alone in this rain symphony
you've given me an hour
for spring-new creativity.

Prayers, poems and praises
smothered by my routine regimen
are surfacing into life and light
to make of me a more capable woman.

You may not see a different me
when we are back together
but I will have a surer hold
on my end of eternity's tether.

Waiting happens. When I began to accept waiting as an opportunity, the times became pleasant, rather than onerous. Turning, waiting for someone, for an appointment, for "my turn" into a time of waiting on God, removes irritation and annoyance. Waiting becomes a good time.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being always here, and for giving me grace to praise you, seek you and rejoice in you as I wait.
