A Place To Hide

"The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. The Lord helps and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him." Psalm 37:39-40 NIV

One case stands out from the years that I practiced.

A woman came in for anxiety therapy because she was afraid of rabbits. Even a picture of a bunny would cause her to cringe against a wall. Without going into details, after gradually desensitizing, she was able to hold a little bunny in her arms. Part of her success story involved her learning to put her terror in the hands of the Lord. The prescription given in Philippians 4:6-7 became her friend.

Every person today is living in a threatening environment and how we respond determines survival.

Even as it appears that the dinosaurs were killed off by plume clouds, the lack of morality is seriously affecting us today with threatening dark clouds. There is a growing dark cloud over mankind's heart. Mold grows in darkness. Soon we can't take a clean free breath. Mold has been hiding in the walls of America's mansion for years, now it's breaking out. Is the mold condition so bad that the Builder will have to tear the whole building down? We will find out.

Where is safety to be found? Safety is found in a relationship with the Creator. He controls life, the environment, and the forces of nature. We find safety by taking refuge in Him as todays verses tell us.

Where is safety to be found? The Gospel of salvation is the gate into safety that is guarded by the Good Shepherd whose rod and staff comforts his fearful sheep.

Thank You Lord for giving me a place to hide. I've learned that it's the same place that I abide. In Jesus' name, Amen.
